I moved from Brighton to Allithwaite, in the South Lakes in December 1998, leaving my old life in community development and work with The Hangleton and Knoll Project.
It was a new beginning and opportunity to learn a skill I’d always been drawn to but never created time to pursue……learning how to lead glass and then fusing. I fell in love with the medium and with the aid of the Rural Women’s Network, set up my business in October 2005.
My work ranges from window/wall panels, both leaded and fused, to smaller pieces, an array of birds, jewellery and dishes. More recently, I’ve become interested in using a sgraffito method to create designs on glass using stained glass paints.
I love to create quirky colourful images ...often birds, alongside shapes and images from nature that catch my eye.
I’m proud to be part of The Beach Hut Gallery Artists Cooperative at Kents Bank Station, Grange over Sands. A small, delightful space showcasing an impressive array of art and craft work by local artists.
My glasswork can also be found at the following galleries/shops:
Paper Bunny in Ulverston
Farfield Mill in Sedbergh
Brantwood, Coniston
The Coast Office in Arnside
